How Kade works

An iPhone app that keeps track of who you’d like to talk to again, without making you feel guilty.

There are people you’d like to talk to more often than you do. A friend from way back, your gran, a former colleague. You know you should call, and then another month has gone by. Kade helps you remember.

How it works

You add the people you care about. Type a name or pick someone from Contacts. For each person you choose roughly how often you’d like to talk: every week, every month or every season.

Kade is a fox. Once a day, at the time you choose, Kade tells you who’s waiting for you. That’s the only notification you get.

The Today screen shows whose turn it is. Talked to someone? Tell Kade with one tap. From that moment the clock starts again for that person.

Kade’s Today screen in Dutch. The fox says three people are waiting for a chat: Joost, Mama and Oma Riet.

The clock counts from the real conversation

On one point Kade works differently from an ordinary reminder. If you call someone a week later than planned, you don’t have to call again tomorrow. Kade counts from the day you actually talked. So you never fall behind.

Remembering what you talked about

After a conversation you can jot down what it was about, and what you’d like to ask next time. How the first week in the new job went, for example. Kade shows you that before your next conversation.

Kade keeps track of birthdays too: you get a nudge that morning. You can call, text or WhatsApp straight from the app. Want to let someone rest for a while, or are you going away yourself? Then send Kade on holiday. You can put a widget with the fox on your home screen.

Everything stays on your phone

Kade has no account and no server. What you enter is stored only on your own iPhone. If you like, Kade keeps a backup in your own iCloud, where I can’t reach it. There’s no tracking and there are no ads. When you pick someone from Contacts, Kade sees only that one person, not your address book.

Kade costs €2.99, once. There’s no subscription and no limit on the number of people. The app is for iPhone and is on the App Store.
